EBV SUMMER SCHOOL CAMP

TOTAL: 80hours
As a CAS activity I decided to take the lead role in Summer School at EBV and guied the kids into a fun summer camp. The purpose of this activity was to help the summer school teachers with about 40 students who signed up for the EBV summer school program in different areas such as PE, Reading/writting, computers and math. I was one of the leaders of group one which included children from prekinder kinder and ones who are going to first grade this next school year. Basically Giuliana and I had the younger children whom I believe required much more care than the other groups since they were the smallest children and they were a big group of 15kids. We had two field trips one was to the Heladeria Argentina (ice cream factory) where we were able to observe how different ice creams were made plus the ingredients they used in order to make them. The second field trip was to a farm where we could observe the pigs and the children played games inside the pool and ate hamburgers. We also had sport days and movie days and the children made cupcakes one day so they were really entertained all the time. This activity can be categorized into the three areas of CAS since we had to get involved in everything happening in the summer school program. I believe summer school was great and the most amazing part was to connect with the kids because they were the cutest part of summer school and they learned how to get along with each other and love us(the guides). I definitely believe this was a great experience and it expanded myself in ways I didn't know I could grow. I recommend the juniors to help out in summer school next year since Ms. Rivas and the teachers need a lot of help in taking care of the kids and it is an amazing chance to get to know the little ones in our school. An advice I would give to the juniors is why waste an opportunity of experiencing with little kids and having fun in their world plus you get 80hours of CAS which is obviously needed in order to graduate.
